Coffee Tasting and Cupping Workshops
If you want to learn how to taste, evaluate, and appreciate different coffees from around the world, you should join us for our coffee tasting classes. These programs are designed for coffee lovers of all levels, from beginners to connoisseurs, and are fun, interactive, and educational.
At the Academy at Coffee Project NY, the Coffee Tasting Intensive teaches students how to set up a cupping table and learn industry-wide protocols for staging a coffee tasting. You will assess various categories and attributes of sample coffees and learn specific vocabulary used for description and categorization. Similarly, at Loki Coffee in Salt Lake City, you can join a fun, interactive tasting class where you’ll learn the basics of how to taste coffees using resources including the SCA flavor wheel and worksheets.
Team Building and Guided Experiences
In Los Angeles, Balam hosts weekly classes and provides team-building experiences. We prepare coffee from at least three different regions and three different roast levels to demonstrate different flavors and profiles. The experience includes instructions on how to smell, taste, experience, and differentiate coffee from different regions. For remote groups, we send a kit prior to the event with coffee from different regions and different roast profiles.
