Exploring Authentic Filipino Food and Where to Buy Ingredients Online
Food is life in the Philippines and is quickly gaining worldwide attention. Filipino’s are known for combining the flavours of their ingredients of choice to make delicious, unpretentious food that will leave you and your guests wanting more. Growing up in the Philippines have exposed me to all types of Asian foods, where traditional dishes were etched in my memory to this day.
Traditional Filipino Dishes
Some of our favourite meals include Adobo, which is made with stewing meat, soy sauce and vinegar, served with rice. Bulalo is the perfect comfort food consisting of slow cooked beef shanks, bone marrow, vegetables, fish sauce and peppercorns. You also can’t go past a traditional silog, or Filipino breakfast, made using meat, garlic fried rice and egg. These dishes are a great source of energy to start your day.
