What You Will Learn
Our professional mixologists will guide you through building, shaking, stirring, and tasting your creations. You’ll enhance your skills in preparing simple syrups, crafting homemade bitters, mastering freshly squeezed citrus, and working with crystal-clear bar ice. This is more than just a class—it’s an immersive tasting experience focused on understanding balanced flavor profiles using sweet, sour, bitter, spice, and savory elements. Each tasting is intentional and guided—you’ll build a drink, taste it, and learn how to adjust it.
This process trains your palate to identify imbalance and teaches you how to gain a deeper understanding of:
- When to use modifiers to add depth without overpowering the base spirit.
- How to adjust acidity or sweetness to highlight specific flavors.
- The importance of mouthfeel, dilution, and aroma in final presentation.
- The role of clear ice in controlling water content and preserving drink integrity.
Class Structure and Offerings
Every In-Person Cocktail class has a story structure and a historical arc that explains the “how’s” and “why’s” of at-home cocktail making. The experience typically features several main sections:
- Tasting: Learn the science behind tasting and how to implement it.
- Old Fashioneds: Make an “Old Fashioned” style cocktail, such as a Sazerac or Wisconsin Old Fashioned.
- The Sour: Create cocktails using spirits, syrups, citrus, and egg whites, including Margaritas, Gimlets, or Whiskey Sours.
- The Collins: Craft refreshing and bubbly cocktails like the Mojito, Paloma, or Moscow Mule.
