YCH Group: Spearheading Sustainable Logistics and Smart Connectivity across the Asia-Pacific
Singapore’s homegrown logistics giant, YCH Group, has announced its commitment to spearhead a clean, green, and sustainable supply chain together with its customers, partners and stakeholders within its supply chain and logistics ecosystem. Founded in 1955, the Singapore-based company currently operates throughout Asia-Pacific, including Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia, China, India, Vietnam and Korea.
Greening the Supply Chain and Renewable Energy Initiatives
The co-creation of this green partnership will be first initiated with Procter & Gamble (P&G), one of the world’s leading companies in the fast consumer moving goods industry sector, as it aims to drive eco-friendly and sustainability practices or initiatives within its supply chain and logistics operations. This aligns with Singapore’s Green Plan 2030 on sustainable development with going green becoming the focal point for Singapore companies moving forward.
The initiatives YCH implemented are geared towards renewable energy, zero waste, future of work and innovation and with a view of driving sustainable, scalable, and responsible supply chains. For instance:
- Supply Chain City has embraced green logistics with its eco-friendly architectural design which led to it being certified BCA Green Mark (Platinum) and US Green Building Council LEEDs Platinum.
- Supply Chain City also houses one of the largest solar powered warehouses in Singapore, providing YCH more than 30% of energy savings.
- YCH is also one of the first Singapore homegrown supply chain company to join the RE100, a global initiative that brings together the world’s most influential businesses committed to 100% renewable energy.
This goes hand in hand with YCH’s green goal to sourcing 100% renewable energy across its Asia Pacific operations and transforming its entire transportation fleet to EV by 2030.
Smart Logistics Infrastructure and ASEAN Connectivity
To further its regional reach, the Provincial Government of Batangas, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Philippines, and YCH Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise the joint interest to co-develop smart logistics infrastructure in enhancing connectivity in ASEAN. The project is likely a first-of-its-kind logistic hub conceived by a Singapore-based company in Philippines to integrate advanced supply chain nerve centre operations that focuses on four key pillars: connectivity, sustainability, scalability, and agility.
This motion aims to meet the future needs of economic growth and drive intra-ASEAN trade connectivity through this development in Province of Batangas, approximately 100km south of Manila. This initiative also aligns with the goals of the ASEAN Smart Logistics Network (ASLN) launched in 2020, as a collaborative platform with a shared goal of promoting smart and sustainable growth based on smart logistics infrastructure.
Strategic Expansion in Indonesia
In addition to its projects in the Philippines, Asia Pacific’s leading supply chain company YCH Group has launched its latest state-of-the-art warehouse facility in Surabaya, Indonesia. The YCH Indonesia Surabaya DistriCentre will serve to further expand the group’s extensive supply chain network in Indonesia. Already established in Indonesia since 2003 with presence across five islands (Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kalimantan and Bali) and in over 60 Indonesian cities, the facility in Indonesia’s second largest city is part of YCH’s plan to enhance efficiency.
This 120,000 square feet facility leverages on our award-winning WMS (Warehouse Management Solution) that seamlessly integrates with customers’ back-end systems to power their end-to-end supply chain flows, from manufacturing to finished goods distribution. The new DistriCentre will service YCH’s clientele of global leading companies such as LG Electronics and Royal FrieslandCampina.
Workforce Development and Workforce Transformation
Regarding talent management, YCH Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) to support 110 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and more than 7,500 workers in the supply chain and logistics sector. As a SkillsFuture Queen Bee for the supply chain and logistics sector, YCH Group will uplift its network of SMEs in the areas of digitalisation, industry 4.0 adoption, and sustainability to drive workforce transformation.
Furthermore, YCH Group’s commitment to an inclusive culture was highlighted at the HR Excellence Awards 2025 in Singapore, where the team secured the Bronze award for Excellence in Championing Women Leaders. At YCH Group, women have long been treated as equals, not just in principle, but in practice, and many of their leaders are women, including two of the Executive Directors.
