Evolution and Design of Global Z Brands and Logo Identities
Nissan Trademarks New Brand and Z Sports Car Logos
A pair of intriguing trademarks from Nissan have emerged online showcasing a new company logo and a new logo for a Z sports car. The Nissan brand logo was recently registered in the UK, Chile, Argentina, Peru, and Uruguay and is much more minimalist than the marque’s current logo. It adopts a simple two-dimensional design with black text. Many other companies have been adopting simple 2D logo designs in recent years, including the likes of Google, BMW, and Volkswagen.
As for the Z badge in question, it has been registered in both Canada and New Zealand and also adopts a simple, monochromatic design. When compared to the Z badge used by the 370Z, this new one also features a distinctive font similar to that one used in the Datsun 240Z, 260Z, and 280Z models. The car could be dubbed the 400Z and be powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine with a cool 400 hp on tap. On a visual front, it is claimed the 400Z could get a retro design and a front fascia echoing the original 240Z.
The Canadian Television Channel Z
Z is a television channel from Canada that shows sci-fi, fantasy, drama, and fantasy films. It has been around since 2000, having been invented by Radiomutuel and launched by Astral Media. Bell Media now owns this TV service, which is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec Province. The Z logo boasts an original design because its creators did some successful experiments with asymmetry and reflection of colors. It reflects the simpler name of the television service because, at first, it was called Canal Z, then Ztele.
The Z logo has evolved from a curved, wavy shape to a strict geometric sign. In 2014, the channel was officially given the shortened name, and this move also launched the process of redesigning the visual identity. The glyph became geometrically flat, with straight lines and sharp corners. In addition, it has a hidden concept reflected in the negative space where two black arrows in the gaps point in different directions. This was done to embody the concept of different directions in themes and genres, from drama to technology and from fantasy to science.
Automobile Brands Starting With the Letter Z
There are a lot of automobile brands starting with the letter “Z” among the eastern manufacturers from China and Japan. But even among them, some are widely known, and those that worked mainly in the domestic market. These include the British Zenos Cars and Zenvo Automotive from Denmark, the Soviet ZIS, and the now-defunct Polish Zuk. History allows you to develop your intellectual level and see the interconnection between how mankind developed and, with it, the automobile industry.
